Do not overlook the Tree and the Snake in the story: There you can see what Taoism calls the shift from wu chi or unmanifest karma, to tai chi, or action in time. Adam and Eve represent then the yin and the yang entering time, the Tree and Snake cosmic expressions, Adam and Eve external manifestations of the cosmic.

RE UFOs: Mormons should be fully familiar with Swiss psychologist C.G. Jung’s manuscript: “UFOs a Modern Myth of things seen in the sky.” Jung writes that we enter a new age in the zodiac, the Age of Aquarius. And just as the previous age, Pisces was marked by the birth of the Christ it was indicated by the dreams and apparitions of Angels. Today, UFOs should be seen as the same kind of indicators, marking the rise of a new realm, in my opinion no doubt led by Mormons. If you Google “map UFOs” and “map Mormons” they precisely overlap; the “angels” this time mark the rise of the indigenous visions in the desert and the rise of Mormon.

Hollywood portrays outer space creatures with big oval-shaped heads and skinny torso: This represents a fear of the unconscious as our minds rise from earth to space in the 20th century. Mormons view as “brothers and sisters.” This is the way the Cullen family is portrayed in the Twilight series; it represents the human race becoming accommodated to space and opens the gate to Mormons influence and ideas. We see that now in the rise of Romney and Huntsman and the “anti-cult” Evangelicals losing their influence.

I wrote: "But who, except perhaps the photographer, could have predicted the primal communion of the circle and the square, with the sun trapped on Page One of the New York Daily News on May 4, [1978] between the steel and glass altar pillars of the World Trade Center? Exactly as it was trapped 3,000 years ago between the walls of Stonehenge, as day broke on the summer solstice."

I noticed recently while explaining to a woman about a figure in Dali paintings from 1932 to 1943 that the "Death" card in Tarot contained the exact same expression of sun and towers (far right above the Bishop's head.

This - the carving in stone of a Russian bear gently moving a ball (the world)- should be considered the rise of Dov Ber of Mezeritch and the rise and return of the orthodoxy to Israel - the restoration of Temple Mount and the "return of the king" will result from that. This carving of the "female bear" - the yin wisdom - on C.G. Jung's crypt in Bollingen which he carved himself. He saw himselph as the spiritual colleague of Dov Ber.

William Blake's "egg" picture divides into four "castles" - a quaternity. As said below, these are the "personality types" - I told my Israeli friend that the four "houses" of aeon Pisces - Orthodox, Islam, Catholic, Protestant should be considered the four "types." Jerusalem, Temple Mount, being the egg. This is the core diagram of all cosmic religion.

These are all important issues. I'd felt that Chris Carter's X Files was the rite of entry to the portal of Aquarius. ON the first day of Aquarius, January 1, 2001 I happened to be in Chicago with my family for vacation which might be considered the "center of the world" in Aquarius as it is center of West. East, South and the Great White North - There was that day on X Files an episode that suggested John Lennon to be the Aquarian penned by David Duchovny. I thought it was a great series and necessary for the world in the globalist Aquarian sequence. But then necessary for the rest of the world to go back to itself. The thing we think of today as globalism began with the American conquest of the western regions, then Europe and Asia by war, capital and culture. It is still conquest. China has always understood this.

Americans became first in the world my military conquest which included the use of nuclear weapons in Japan. A reading of Nicholson Baker's book "Human Smoke" gives a picture of the total destruction of Europe. Conquest always has two faces: the soldier and the priest. When I was in Paris in the early 1970s I would go to the Cinemateque every night; Henri Langois's little film museum. That was a great time in Paris. Nice American (Sam Fuller) and Asian (Buddhist) influenced. The problem for people in the world adopting Americanism is that it detaches you from your own earth to which you are bound by tradition and its cultures, traded in for the American overview - I think much of the UFO rising into the sky has been caused by this detachment. Aldous Huxley felt the big screen motion pictures were purely totalitarian attempts to control the world - I fairly agree; zombeeism is a reoccurring theme in American life. We are going through a zombie phase now. Lifted out of the earth we lose our connection to it; we lose our soul.

Americans survive on constant novelty and sell it abroad. I find that we in America have little choice - we have not found our soul yet. That is why we are so neurotic and compelled exclusively to Extraverted activity. We are incapable of Intraversion. It physically pains us. But Americans must powerr through this themselves and not escape from it. The final portal of Aquarius; the rite of exit - is the tv show Mad Men which is exactly about that; the selling of things for what they are not and the making of things that are soul eating. It is impossible for the hero to find a human realtionship; the characters are well-dressed zombees(and the hero himself. Don Draper, comes from the dead as the "real" Don was killed in the Korean War. The Mad Ave. Don is a zombee).

Love is the answer and when the main character finds it it comes from another country (France - and it comes via a phone call with "mother" in French).

That is why I write about Buffy: She is the earth, the avatar of individuation, antidote to zombeeism.

These Dali pics are from 1943 to suggest the "second Christ" or the Aquarian. They werer deeply influenced b y Jung and by Astrology. Note the drippings form both pictures - they indicate "the Christ" as they come from the Christ wound - artists traditionally havfe done this in Europe. The candle as well in the head indicates the "enlightened one." I am the only person who knows about this - art critics are dorkus. My Remo friends have heard the explaination. "Mad Men"s Don Draper is Aquarian Christ/Vishnu

Note to Marty: Friend visited over the weekend who says Don Draper will die a suicide as suggested in the iconic intro. NO, I said, Don is Vishnu, suited up to leave the dream and enter into the transformation of the world. In Last night’s excellent episode, 407, featuring the Liston/Clay fight, lesser colleague Peggy comforts Don as his friend in California is dying. There is an interesting moment when Don gets into a fight with Gray (shadow), who tells Don he has killed 17 men at Guadacanal. Don “turns the other cheek” and stops the fight. IN the next scene, Don and Peggy are presented in a classic Madonna and Child scene, which in Christendom expressed the Earth as Madonna and the People as the Christ Child.

Don is presented as The Christ; an ad man who “rises from the dead” in Korea with a new identity and who envisions in the universe a white goddess who will nest “in his house” in California; he dreams of her on Peggy's lap as he sleeps. It is really astonishing.

Don's spirit mother who has died in CA appears as the High Priestess in Tarot:

At the end, the Weiner symbol is presented as the Tarot card The Sun in the Rider-Waite deck. The Sun is the symbol of rising Aquarius. As C.G. Jung put is, as Aquarius rises, Vishnu will be seen in the world riding his white horse.

Eclipse: The Ritual execution of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer

Astute students of archetypal history will definitely want to see the third episode of the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse” which opened this week. I saw it this week with my daughter and was the only non-13-year-old girl in the packed theater. But Eclipse fulfills an archetypal need and destiny: The four book series follows the full moon cycle of the English Earth Mother tradition and this book and movie brings the ritual execution of Victoria. In fact, Buffy is clearly identified as the archetype of the English Earth Mother in her three phases (see Graves, “The White Goddess”), Victoria being the last phase, the Death Mother or eclipsed moon. In one of the last televised issues of Buffy, she is identified as the “Lady of the Lake”: A ghost woman appears to her from behind the veil and says, ”You pulled the sword from the stone. I was one of the women [Triple Goddess] who put it there.”

Twilight is a Buffy knockoff – better yet, it is a Mormon version of the Buffy/Angel saga. In the Buffy chronicles, The Slayer’s second boy friend – Angel is her real love and her first boy friend – is Riley. But he is considered never holding up to Angel. In Eclipse, a new Riley appears; the second lover of Victoria, implying that Victoria is a stand in or analog of Buffy. Victoria, the enemy in Twilight, has bright red hair – she is the Red Queen is seen in the Unconscious of Alice in Wonderland: She is England's great queen, Victoria, the last of the English Earth Mothers. She must die for the White Queen to be “born again” and the cycle of the Triple Goddess to awaken again. She dies in Eclipse, executed by Edward (head ripped off), and Bella represents the new White Queen. Most excellent, on the cover of the book Breaking Dawn, fourth and final book in the series, is a white chess piece: the White Queen. The goddess cycle begins again in Aquarius.

Coolest thing though is that Stephanie Meyers, the author, replaces the American borrowed Logos (English law, philosophy and procedures) and Eros (Italian romance, poetry and religion) with new Logos (Mormonism; the vampires are high Mormons with a striving work ethic) and a new Eros (Native Americans). It should be noted that Mormonism started here in the mountains of Vermont and New York when America was going through a fantastic religious revival in the 1830s. The Mormons rose from the English dissenters here in New England. When the original Anglicans started arriving after the revolution, the Mormons headed west to Utah. My claim has been that they took the Protestant Ethic with them. So you can see in Eclipse and in the Twilight series the English civil war echoing through the centuries, even to archetypal warfare today in Hollywood.

Tolkien’s “Rings” Templar “code” for restoration of Temple Mount

The several elements in Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” suggest restoration of Temple Mount. The Towers, the Golem. As I have been writing along here and in Quigley in Exile, Golem, from Rabbi Loeb’s dream of Golem in the 1600s marked the "end of light” in Europe – European and world Jews would then bifurcate to Extroverts, who would move outward with the gentiles in commerce and banking, and Introverts who would then move inward; that is, back to Israel. This would be the beginning of The Return. Golem would mark the external path to the present day in pop culture: Find Quaternities in pop culture and the “son” figure is frequently Golem – traces of this in Seinfeld where George is “son” (Seinfeld father, Cosmo Trickster, etc.), all neurotic and unable. No karma left at end of Pisces. The Twin Towers - Tolkien's second book - caused concern here because when the movie was released and the twin trade centers in New York were destroyed as parallel event, as if we were on a “gateway” to the age – the Age of Aquarius opened in 2001, year of the Twin Towers 9/11 tragedy. The subtheme in this story is the death of Golem; the end of the dark (shadow) aspect of the Jewish Extravert trail (which Moshe Feiglin scorns today in his weekly newslette). That is matched by the “Return of the King.” We shift today to the positive karma and suggest, in Templar terms, the rise again of Temple Mount. And it is what we hear again today & what I’ve been writing about these past months. I had been thinking it had different reference, but as Golem is in essence a Jewish reference,l the counterpart, King, likely implies the rise of Israel.

This image of the "Fantastic 4" in the naive culture is characteristic of a Quaternity featuring Golem as "Son." As I understand it, Stan Lee, who did this and most of the "super heroes" was a Jewish immigrant to New York. This would suggest a quest for Self which new (maybe all) Americans feel when they leave their "gods" (archetypes) behind in Europe. Golem's name here is "Ben" - Hebrew for "Son." This is a classic Quaternity: Father, Son, Trickster (fire boy), and Psyche (sister to "fire boy."). Quaternity is common in pop culture, "The Wizard of Oz" being most representative of American karma, born of the Plains. But "Seinfeld" and "Frazier" are telling Quaternities as well.

As per the earlier theme of shifting the "time style" from Pisces to Aquarius, the interior story ends with Jack at the light in the centerr of the island repairing the karms - much as John Locke repaired the "time style" when Ben broke it. The water pours forth. Jack is the Waterpourer; the iconic figure in the symbol of Aquarius in the zodiac pourikng water form a vase; freeing the creative consciousness for the new millenia. Nice at the end the eye closes; like Khrishna going back to sleep at the end of Maharabarata. The Waterpourer figure is known as the Titan.

Three astrological levels on the TV show “Lost” – Sawyer and Kate are the Adam and Eve of Aquarius

AS we cross into the Age of Aquarius out of the Age of Pisces, three levels of astrological time are present, going back 6,000 years to the time of Jacob. During the run of the series Jacob and his Shadow, Man in Black, the smoke monster are the old protectors of the light. Ben Linus and Richard Albert are their external agents in the world. Ben – identified as the Christ in the second season by the chest wound and the book, Brother’s K – representing the beginning of the Age of Pisces with Richard Alpert, known as Baba Ram Dass in the Sixties, representing the end – he started the hippie movement with Timothy Leary, his co-professor at Harvard.

Entering Aquarius now with Jacob dead and the smoke monster transferred to John Locke, Jack, son of “Christian Shepherd” takes the role of Guardian. The external agents here should be Desmond (who played Jesus in an earlier movie) and Hurley – both these have avatar karma – Hurley speaks to the Unconscious direct; listens to the dead, while Desmond, like Brahma is immune to the peaks (Vishnu) and troughs (Shiva) of the light. Leaving Kate and Sawyer to be the new Adam and Eve of Aquarius.

Buffy and Twilight

Watching the first few episodes of Buffy this past weekend it is clear that Buffy is the template for Twilight. But Twilight is the anti-Buffy; a Mormon version of the Slayer which is purely English while Mormons can bes seen as a dissident sect of English. In season one number four a bus is taken over by religious folk refered to as the brethern; a name I believe used for Mormons in Australia.

Giles is also said to have a mentor named Carlisle - Edwards's father - back in the British Museum.

Noteworthy that Buffy's animus is called Angel; in book four of the Twilight series Edward and co. are referred to as angels and archangels. In both of these series some of the vampires can be seen as good or striving to be good - angels or Shining Ones - while in previous vampire movies the undead express a "silence of God" or empty crypt where the Christ once awakened from.

Worth noting as well that the Hellmouth mentioned in Buffy opens at the end of Pisces - 1996/7 while Twilight comes out on the other side - the beginning of the Age of Aquarius - 2006 or 7.

NOteworthy as well that Buffy is the active agent althought Angel kills Darla just as Edward kills Victoria allowing for the manifestation of the new goddess. Again, the Mormon model in Twilight where Bella simply finds her place with Edward.

This whole thing conditions a generation in a possitive way as both Buffy and Twilight bring the positive values of the white goddess and the beginning of the goddess cycle and bring to an end the age of Kali; the death mother. the generation which awakens and forms time, will manifest these positive values in the new century.

Mr. Granger: Thoughtful piece on Twilight saga. Twilight could well be seen as a North American Creation Myth repudiating old Logos/Eros of the Anglo European tradition for a new world Logos/Eros. The villain in Twilight is not surprisingly named Victoria – the Third Phase (dark moon) of Robert Graves “White Goddess” – she must be dispatched so that Graves White Goddess – (Bella – new moon) can begin the goddess cycle again. Note that Victoria’s “intuitive friend” is the Irishman Riley. Bella’s is the Native American, Jacob. The Voltori also appear to draw on the Italian - Eros realm of old school where love and religion resided and awakened Europe - , thus in Meyer’s Mormon saga they are the bad guys (Edward hates tradition, he says). The English and the Italians are displaced by a bonding of Mormon (Logos) and Native Americans (Eros). A new Quaternity is formed on the new continent and possibly for the new century – a west coast Mormon/Indian North American Quaternity: Father (Carlyle) Son (Edward), Trickster spirit (Jacob) and Psyche (Bella). Bella is the only human in this situation. Edward kills Victoria (the Red Queen) so that Bella (the White Queen) can be born again and can bring forth the goddess cycle on the new continent. Notice the cover of book four, “New Dawn”: it is the chess piece of the White Queen. And in book four Edward and presumably the other vampires are identified as archangels. Related to this, the old vampire movies and books can be seen as “empty crypt” myths and Europe entered the painful “silence of God” era (And Frankenstein, attempts like Rabbi Loeb’s to conjure the savior but finding only Golum). But here, the gods – archangels – awaken again in the unconscious.

"Twilight" - Victoria's Shadow - American Quaternity

As per the conversation below about "Twilight" as n oriignal Creation Myth it should benoted that is is a western event and one which may run opposite with the eastern United states. Bella as the rising "white queen" begins the first phase of the great Mother cycle - this in hippie lore can be estimated as rising in 2012. 2012, claimed to the an "end of the world" year on the AStez calender and causeing much fanfare, is actually auspicious as it is also a "beginning of the world" phenomenon or pyshic event.
NOteworthy that Victoria - the "third mother" or Death Moon has a "side kick" or lover - that would be Riley, the Irishman. While Bella, the "white goddess" has Jacob, the Native American. I wrote in Quigley in Exile early on how the Irishman was the awakening trickster in innigratn America (ADams" gardener in "The Educaiton of Henry Adams" and in pop works like "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken." But Native America is true guid in North America - the Natty Bumpo figure; Hawkeye in the Cooper tales, or the AFrican-American. I think this will regionalize. West and northwest are informed by Native America, South and north east by African American.

It is possible to see an American Quaternity rising now: South (black), North east (Old mother England), Southwest (Mormon - or the vampires in Twilight which are identified as archeangels in book four) and northwest Native American.

Twilight: Return of the White Goddess

Noted below, Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight quartet brings a ritual killing of Victoria, the "third Mother" in the Earth Mother triple goddess cycle best described in Robert Graves' classic, The White Goddess. Killing the Third Mother enables the return of the First Mother; the White Goddess or the White Queen. Bella links Native American intuition with Mormon structure (Twilight is a dream of Mormon writer Stephanie Meyers) - a new Logos/Eros for a new age and a new continent. The villians are England (Victoria) and Italy (Colturi); Logos/Eros or order/intuition of a former age. My commentary at The Hill is constantly based on the idea that our times including the recession do not resemble the 1830s as the Keynesians are driving it, but the 1830s when Native American intuition (Natty Bumpo) was a major influence and the Mormons were starting their journey across America.

Ritual killing of Victoria in "Twilight"

So much happens in the Twilight series; the Mormon suggestion of the vampires, the bonding with Native American intuition - Bella is Brahma, the benign vortex between Vishnu (ascending karma - Edward and the vampires) and Shiva (receding karma - Native Americans; the meeting of the Three in Italy (as Jesus and Abraham met the Three) but what I think is most significant is the killing of Victoria. There is a strain of the English civil conflict between Puritan moving to Unitarian and Mormon and heading west when the Anglicans appear in New England threabouts. But Victoria in astrological lore is the Third Mother - the death Mother; the world conquerer at the end of the age of Pisces. Pisces was a yin age - an earth and water age. The vampires here are benevolent and responsible - like Mormons, family and honor oriented. But before the new age - aquarius rises, the Third MOther - Kali must be ritually put to rest - that is the poin tof the Twilight saga; the destruction of Victoria, the third mother, so the first mother - the white goddess, can rise again.

If pop culture brings an archetype forth this series has taken hold of a generation. The ritual destruction of Victoira, the third mother, will allow for the awakening of the First Mother - the Earth Mother incarnate awakening in the new astrological cycle. That is perhaps the terror felt for Sarah Palin; she is representative of the first mother. Victoria dies in book three - the movie should be out in a year.

The Christ Dance in Dali's "Poetry of America"

In Dali’s Poetry of America the white figure has his arm across his eyes - in the dream folk lore when one sees a vision from the Unconscious they are told to cover their eyes. The "disintegrating Christ" is also seen here as partial and perhaps used up (blood turned to oil and coke, etc.) at journey's end - the vision of the Unconscious is "through a glass darkly" and only partial. I've had that dream with three ancient sculls – told to keep my head down. The Egg appears here as a tiny football with little man and will manifest in Geopoliticus Child . . .

In The Phantom of the Opera, for example, a classic folk opera about the fall of Europe in 1917, Madame Giry, Christine’s caregiver who sees into the Unconscious, tells the hero to cover his eyes when the "phantom" occurs and she leads him to the phantom's den in the underworld (when Christine tears off the Phantom’s mask the house falls and brings the death of Europe, indicated as the Paris Opera House).

Likewise, as Jung pointed out in the UFO dreams - their faces were burned by the confrontation with the Unconscious. As a dream, this picture represents a “vision” of Christ – the blue figure (blue; fro the Unconscious in a dream) by the dreamer in white. Ending the transition over decades of the pictures of the Knight, now a man with a staff. The egg first appears here rising out of the tiny man who rises out of the white dreamer.

Reading Dali's "Poetry of America" picture dream

One more point while I am on this on how a representative painting - one that stays beyond its generation or place - can be understood as a dream or a collective dream; a dream relevant to the Collective Unconscious. I've read a lot of comments about the tower in the picture "Poetry in America" and the Africa map hanging beneath it but nothing systematic. The Surrealist group especially DeCirico was preoccupied with towers - white and red towers suggesting the US and the USSR. The long sequence and the ancient qualities would suggest something rising from the Unconscious much as the sacred primal phallus that Jung talked about in Memories, Dreams, Reflections.

Looking at Dali's pictures over several decades they appear to present something rising from the Unconscious over a long period of time and coming into consciousness in the year 1943 in the heat of WW II when he painted Poetry in America and Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of the New Man. The technology today gives the opportunity to isolate elements in these pictures to see the procession rising from the Unconscious over time. The Knight "from the Unconscious" changes over time until he becomes a man in 1943. The Tower changes as well and in the same 1943 picture there is a clock - the Knight from the Unconscious has entered "time" - reality as we daily experience it, so we are ready for the "birth" of the "new man." It would work better if I had the dates of these older Knights but I don't have the time to go through them all right now.

These details match the paintings above. In this first, the Knight sees the Tower emerging, but it is still behind a natural veil: I have seen dreams like this with a natural veil of trees dividing magic animals from a group of people eating in a restaurant (dividing the Unconscious from the conscious).

In the next period, years later (as I recall), the Knight is more defined and less ancient. Light is dawning in the picture. The Tower is coming into focus; coming closer to "time."

In 1943, the Knight is now a naked man entered "time." He has arrived in the world. The Tower is completely "real" - come into time. The "old Christ" - dark figure dancing with candle in head will yield to the new "white dancer" and a new "Eggman" will be born.

I would say the tower represents here the journey of consciousness via the Knight of the Unconscious out of the long and ancient journey of ancient evolutionary consciousness, now entering a new phase. Thus the clock, representing the awakening of the new day and the "new man" - the "new Christ" if the wound and the fresh drip from the Egg is indication.

Eggman, "Geopoliticus Child," "Poetry in America"

I received several thousand viewers this past few weeks RE a few comments published elsewhere on how Salvador Dali's two paintings, Geopoliticus Child Watchign the Birth of the New Man and Poetry in America, both painted in 1943, are companion pieces and explain each other. They form the vortex of Dali's work and the apex of his mythic journey. They have significance to the collective passage of his times and our; the artist dreams the collective dream of the culture and the dream can be understood archetypally, as an individual dream can. Should note that in the last sentences I completely reversed myself and realized that Poetry in America features time reverting back and bringing forth the Egg in Geopoliticus Child.

Whenever I have to go the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) I enter a state of trance of some kind or detachment. Questions come up that seem unanswerable and processes unsolvable, creating a koan situation and sending the mind in exile to more pleasant pastures. I was there today (Nov. 4, 2008) with one of my sons to take the test for his driver’s license and while we were waiting in line I solved an enigma for myself that I have been thinking about for about 13 years - it just popped in my head when I was looking at a kid who looked like Kurt Cobain.

The answer is/was incredibly simple. I'd been thinking about John Lennon's tune "I am the eggman" and I had put together that as the song begins with the phrase "I am He" - and continues with "I am the Eggman, I am the Walrus," I understood it to be a reference to the Upanishads and other Eastern texts, which use the phrase "I am he" followed by "I am the Atman. I am the Brahmin." It refers to the individual consciousness as an individual coming to the realization that she or he shares consciousness with others and everyone and everything. So I felt John was cloaking this in comic imagery from Lewis Carroll (Walrus was in Through the Looking Glass if I recall correctly - so was Eggman; Humpty Dumpty in Alice . . .).

I'd also written a lot about links between Lennon and Salvador Dali and Magritte; Lennon can be seen as fulfilling "prophecy" of Magritte and Dali - I proposed that Dali and Lennon went into the same "room" in the Unconscious and some how connected there through the talisman of the white grand piano. But waiting in line I realized that when Lennon said "I am the Eggman" he was likely referring to a painting of Dali's about the "Geopolitical Child" - virtually the global man - the Aquarian - climbing out of an egg and waking in the new world. This is an important painting by Dali and lived and grew in the Unconscious for decades before it went to canvas.

There are more. Magritte, in 1964, did this, "Son of Man" - from Book of Daniel, signifying the Aquarian would be marked by a green apple - the sign of The Beatles Apple Corp.

This is more significant; it starts with a Knight from the Unconscious:

But what is significant is a long - years long - series Dali did of this Horseman of Death entering consciousness through a Knight and a Tower. There are many but they all go between these two.

If you look at these two pictures above you can see that the Knight with spear has brought something from the Unconscious to the Conscious. And in the Conscious picture (with the dancers - titled Poetry in America), he is no longer a Knight, but a naked man sitting off to the side on the left and the Tower has entered "time" - it has a clock and a deflated "egg" - which is a map of the United States and South American hanging. (Note: No it is probably Africa hanging - the "Egg" in Geopoliticus Child has entered "time" in Poetry of America and is deflated illustrated by the clock and the hanging map. Quite possibly Dali saw the "dual nature" - the two dancers; the wu chi egg entering tai chi as a dance, is a white man and a black man; the "African-American" as the "shadow" in America. By this we mean the unexpressed contents of the psyche. Jung made the point in MDR on his visit to America that the spirit of the African-American and the Native America pervade and inform America. John Hope Franklin, the American historian makes the same point. It is worth noting as well that these paintings are both made in 1943 I believe and are wu chi/tai chi relatives. AS in Tolkien’s Rings story when the quiet quest of Frodo goes on while the world is involved in battle, so this discovery does on beneath the Second World War.)

This is the Eggman. This is what Lennon referred to when he said, "I am the Eggman" - I am Geopoliticus Child; I am the new man of the world; I am Brahma.

If you go back to look at Poetry of America, the one with the dancers, you can see the content of the Egg. Notice both pictures have a cloth beneath them and something is pouring onto it. It is oil and Coke in Poetry in America. It is blood in Geopoliticus Child. This identifies the pictures as a connected sequence. IN Poetry in America we can see that the dancer on the right has a candle in his head - he is "the Enlightened One" - we can see that Geopoliticus Child is intended to be the Enlightened One. Notice as well that the Enlightened One - dancer on the right - has a hole in his right chest - it is the wound where the Christ was hit with the spear; Geopoliticus Child is the "second Christ" the Aquarian - it is Eggman. Late in live, in pain, Lennon say, "I was the Walrus (Brahma) but now I'm John." Tibetan Buddhists say after Enlightenment, life is a broken glass. He never smiled again for the cameras after India.
Note to Remi on Quaternities - Remi - Of course The Beatles form a quaternity: Paul (Father - brought in to give the "Silver Beatles" structure as it was only a play thing for John and Stu before), John (Son), Ringo (Trickster), George (Psyche - was George who introduced John to the East and Hinduism). Unfortunately my French is not so good and I'm unable to read your site - looks interesting though. Will have my kids translate when they get home. My very oldest ancestors are Parisian I believe (de Coursy) and I feel very at home there.

After India, John actually believed he was "channeling" Jesus; that is why he dressed in white like the Christ after the Transfiguration on the Abbey Road album, their final work together (they walk to right of screen in the picture, "entering the conscious world."). The "Christ" episode is reported by the very reliable journalist Mark Hertsgaard, who writes for The New Yorker and the LA Times in his excellent book, A Day in a Life.

NOTE to Remi RE Quaternity: With Abraham and the Three Visitors and the Christ and the Three Magi, you can see the constellation of Quaternity taking the shape of three + one. IN each case - and this is the same in Taoism with the Three Celestial Ones - the Three represent the agency of the Unconscious while the One is their manifestation in time. (Exactly like Scrooge and the Three Spirits in Dickens' A Christmas Carol - likewise, the Three send Scrooge through a "Transfiguration".) The three humans - like those who channel the gods and the archetypes - are blissfully unaware that they are manifesting life force from the Unconscious. Thus, the "Son" is a manifestation of the Three. 'Twas ever thus.

What I think is the coolest thing about this is that the Third Spirit who visits Scrooge, pictured here, is clearly the Green Man.

Additional Thoughts on Geopoliticus Child and Poetry in America in 1943

The two dancers in Poetry in America represent the “dual nature” of creation; two figures light and dark – like that described in Tao te Ching – the “knights of dark and mysterious consequence” one walks in the Inner world and one walks in the Outer world. “Krishna” means “the dark one” - the one from the Unconscious - and the “Christ” figure here (candle - "enlightened one") is in shadow – thus the “Christ” is the receding figure and the figure of the Unconscious who feeds the conscious dancer, the "New Man". They both appear to be wearing football helmets.

and other secondary images suggest America in 1943 when Poetry in America and Geopoliticus Child were both painted - Eisenhower and Gerald Ford. The "Geopolitics Child" Egg may have cast its skin and morphed into tower clock

when the dream and the naked Knight, now a mortal,

entered “time” – but the Egg - a new unhatched egg - is present again in this picture – with the small figure rising out of the back of the “light” figure.

This is the “new creation” and it is a dance in essence, rising out of an egg.

The football helmets also bring to mind Edinger's thinking about American football in Archetype and the Apocalypse; sports forming a primal outline of a world to come - in effect a pre-civilization matrix. Football is the American matrix forming out of WW II and identifying regions. The U.S. can be seen today as a hole in a donut: the donut is the world around which plays soccer (old aspect of chronos) - 2 billion watched the World Cup. The hole in the center the ones who watch football (new aspect of chronos) - 94 million watched the Super Bowl.

You could look at these two pictures in reverse - Poetry in America coming first, the Tower under the Black Son (the Son in the Unconscious) - the dance of the millennia represented by the passage of the Knights in Dali's pictures over decades, to the moment of the Egg, rising "reborn" out of the Dancers - the Twins which accompany the Awakening. The Geopoliticus Child being the awakening, fully informed by the traditions represented in Poetry in America. I have always thought of this tower as the tower on the campus of U. Michigan, Ann Arbor - the "center of the world" in the "new creation" by the Great Lakes.

IN either case, as an original creative arc, Dali had said that all Dali is one Dali - his work's rise and descent and that of the Surrealist grouping from which it emerged might be seen as rising to this singular moment, 1943. The Knights lead here then they disappear or manifest in the human form holding the staff. It is interesting that this "creation moment" rises from the heat of war and the destruction of Europe.

IN this view, which is probably more likely, the dark "old Christ" would seem worn, used up at the end of journey, yielding to the football player - the "new Christ" in white. Also, things seen in the Unconscious are often only partial as this figure is - and much in all Dali's work is partial. Dreamers, often see Unconscious behind a vein or in highlight, as per the request not to look at God direct or speak his name in all religious traditions and folk lore.

The books and movie Twilight form Anima and Animus for a new generation - a group now just still in high school and led first by girls by this popular romance. I'm reading the second book, New Moon, and have been commenting on it on the Mormon web site, The Millennial Star." The Twilight author is a Mormon and the novels contain Mormon thinking. On Remo's web site - Unus Mundus - I've suggested that Joseph Smith and the Mormons are part of the Aquarian awakening. My comment:

It is a family rule that we, the adults, read any book that our kids tell us to. On the second book, New Moon, I am fascinated by the mythic and archetypal elements rather than the literary skill. Bella casts off ordinary and traditional human friends and family, just as Krishna rises out of his old skin for a new “. . . dance of life and death”; a new “creation.” Quaternity is common in naïve literature; Seinfeld is a Quaternity, Fraser is a Quaternity, the Wizard of Oz is a Quaternity. Bella’s Quaternity forms a new relationship with the cosmos; a new Quaternity with “supernaturals” in which she is the only human: Carlyln, (Father), Edward (Son), Jacob (Trickster) and Bella (Psyche). Yale’s Harold Bloom says that Joseph Smith has done much the same - formed a new relationship with the cosmos - and has been the only American to do so successfully.

“Eggman” Fulfills Surrealist “Prophecy”

In hindsight, the “automatic writing” and the desireless desire of Andre Breton and the originally-intentioned Surrealists in the 1920s and 1930s can be seen as beginning at a point and ending at a point. The ending can be seen as John Lennon’s final pieces, “I am the Eggman” and “Imagine.”

Prophecy in the religious sense, in that the Book of Revelations consists of prophecy, is in fact, automatic writing. There is a theme beneath, but it is a theme with patterns which form in the Unconscious and draw a picture over time – inner time – time in the Eastern Orthodox sense; Chronos – all time is one time in a holistic package: It sees things “ahead” in lineal time happening in a coherent package to form a picture with things in other lineal time. That is, the paintings of Magritte and Dali and some of the writings of Eloud and Bretin are related by fem spirit – like the Pandu brothers all married to the same woman. The piano that Dali paints over years as a talisman for the Unconscious condition is the same piano that John Lennon played – the white grand piano – in composing Imagine.

John Lennon is the Eggman; Eggman, in this tip point of the work is the Surrealist’s Christ; the Second Coming, the Yellow Buddha. IN the song, Eggman refers to the phrase from the Vedas: “I am he; this is that.” I am Atman, I am Brahmin (I am Eggman, I am Walrus). It is precisely what the Christ said in seeking the Father, that he had become at one with the Father – the Self – the Unconscious, the Universe (the Eight Planets; the Bagua).

Likewise, in Dali’s painting of “Geopoliticus Child” (1943) viewing the awakening of the “New Man.” Dali is the child in the picture riding the dream “as a child” and following the Anima next whom he follows to the picture. Many pictures over Dali’s lifetime lead to this: See Quigley in Exile. The “new man” emerging is identified as the Christ by the dripping blood – it is revealed in “Poetry in America” – the blood comes from the Christ wound and the candle in his head identifies him as the Enlightened One. IN Poetry . . . he dances with his Shadow; Dual Nature, Jesus and John, Sanat and Sanada at the turning of the Platonic Month to Aquarius.

IN particular, Magritte's Son of Man, Biblical phrasing for the Chosen One from Daniel, is pictured in two pictures in 1964 as an Englishman - Bowler Hat - with an apple for a face: Apple became the sign for The Beatles who awakened into the world in 1964.

Lost: Season 5 finale – Ben Linus is Pisces

In final Lost of the season, Astral Locke enters the foot of the colossus Ammit to have Ben Linus kill Jacob. It is necessary for Jacob – the spirit of the passing age – to die so that the new age can awaken. The Lost series is a parable of descending age of Pisces and the rising age of Aquarius. Linus has in several ways been identified as the Piscean; in second season and fifth he receives the “Christ wound” – a wound in the right of the chest where the Christ was speared on the cross – Christ is the Piscean in lore of the zodiac (the Magi were Persian and Zoroastrian astrologers following the star to greet the opening of the age). Ben = “Son” in Hebrew. Linus is “Son of Apollo.”

In this episode on the way to the foot of Ammit Ben actually tells John Locke he is Pisces. The foot, where Jacob lives, is the body symbol of Pisces. Lower leg, which Locke is always breaking, signifies Aquarius. There will be 12 avatars in the full cycle of the Egyptian temple – Anubis is seen on the walls as well – in the 24,000 year cycle of the Sun. Jacob – a Hebrew name suggesting the first patriarchs out of Egypt – and his “leader” Ben/Son is the first. Astral Locke is the second; Locke, the name suggests the Enlightenment, is the Aquarian. He is Astral because he is really dead and his body is delivered to Richard Alpert (Ram Dass). Dual nature is key to all J.J. Abrams work. The Platonic Months – 2,000 year intervals – alternate yin and yang or Introvert and Extrovert. Pisces was a yin age. Aquarius is a yang age. Some say the alternating nature is Jesus/John, the Twins which accompany the change, seen in Lemuria as Sanat and Sanada.

I appreciated the article on entanglement, not least because of the picture of John S. Bell which came up in the magazine. He is clearly the prototype for Daniel Faraday, the renegade theoretical physicist who did his work in a broom closet at Oxford in the imaginative TV show Lost. The Lost island keeps shifting in time and place and some of the islanders do as well because Faraday left some of his notes with his mother. Now I understand it. Sort of.

Notes to Understanding David Bowie’s Ashes to Ashes

David Bowie’s 1980’s song and video Ashes to Ashes is a classic dream journey and understanding it will explain the fundamentals of a “journey into the Unconscious.” It is a mythical journey fraught with psychological danger ("I shall waste no time passing judgment on those among my initial companions who have become frightened and turned back . . ." - Andre Breton); the one who will survive is the one who can see – and walk – “as a child.” C.G. Jung pointed out that this must be as a child sees, not like a child sees. It often becomes a kind of infantilism; one acts like a child to avoid adulthood and responsibility. But not Bowie. He feels first broken and afraid – “no money, no hair” – useless to the world even with his material and celebrity success. And now he is genuinely afraid, because he is receiving a “call form the Unconscious." He has received a call form the “action man”/ the SELF - a call form teh Unconscious – “oh not, say it’s not true.” He understands the danger of the dream journey, which causes madness to the many artists who actually enters the Unconscious and are unable to navigate. You should look at this video as telling two storys: The pictures tell one story as a painting or a children’s folk tale tells a story. The words tell another story. For the mythical dream journey, the words are irrelevant. Entering the Unconscious actualizes different region of the psyche; words fail there as the artist enters a kind of trance - the more lucid the trance, the more irrelevant the words and teh more important the picture story: dreams talk in pictures. The artist follows Anima; the female inner spirit – much as Neo in the Matrix followed the girl with the white rabbit tattoo. Bob Dylan in “Visions of Johanna” and John Lennon - “The girl with kaleidoscope eyes” - in “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” both follow Anima into the deep part of the Unconscious where the artist jewels are (Lennon finds an eight-pointed star; a BaGua - in this case an approximation of SELF as well) - there they came up with their best and most lasting work. These two, with Bowie’s Ashes to Ashes are among the most profound of artistic expression of that period. Anima brings Bowie to the Earth Mother herself – the spirit of the earth. He enters “as a child” dressed for the journey in clown suit. Remarkably – better even than in the Dylan and Lennon pieces - he encounters the Three Sisters; the essence of yin consciousness and the ancient Brittania earth memory of the Earth Mother religion. This runs parallel to the German folk tale – and many others – of the Rhine Maidens – another aspect of the Three Sisters archetype; they tempt the adept to the bottom of the river – the Unconscious: that is where the gold nuggets are. But only the artist may go there and in during so, the artist, reflecting Bowie’s comments at the beginning on “sordid details” of love, loses the gift of love.

And Siegfried, the external warrior is warned away. But Loki, the Trickster, archetype of the artist, with the flaming red hair, can be seen as a prototype of Bowie, dangles his toe in the water.

The external story is conspicuously about drugs but that is irrelevant to the inner story - and always a good marketing tool. It is the journey into the Unconscious which is causing him fear and trepidation. The earth mover plows through and eventually ballerina - Bowie's anima guide - and the Three Sisters lead him to SELF; the core of human psyche. The use of drugs with these three - Dylan, Lennon and Bowie - at first drops away the normal external reality and the artist finds ability to enter there. But it is irrelevant to the actual journey. Here though is what makes the artist: Many took drugs, but only these three and a few others found their way to the SELF. As with the Surrealists, these are extremely private and conservative stories; little windows to God, said Marie Louis von France, hiding in distraction and bizarro to dissuade the uninitiated. (This is the actual drawing which inspired "Lucy in the Sky" done by Lennon's son Julian. The star in the right top has eight points.)

David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes; the Way of the Three Sisters

In an illustration on how the “three sisters" accompany the artist’s journey, the video on David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes” available on You Tube is instructive. Lost: Ben is Bad

When Ben – the mad Christ of Revelations – turned the style to the new astrological age of Aquarius, he believed that in opening the age he would reign again and displace the actual Aquarian; John Locke. Thus, when he kills John Locke he does not think that Locke will reawaken on the island as he does. Locke sees Ben but Ben does not see John; he is sleeping in the injured ward.

Christian however, intervened – he tells John Locke the he was supposed to have turned the style not Ben. And because Ben turned it the style is off its axis. So John Locke does turn the style, becoming the Aquarian.

Desmond says he will never go back to the island. But when he gets back to the boat he will have found that Ben has killed Penny. So he will go back to the island and kill Ben.

Charles Whitmore is indeed the good guy, hoping to usher in Locke and Aquarius. He warns however of war if the right guy is not at the helm; that is, there will be a war between the old Ben team and the hippies: red and blue America.

Last night's Lost: This story told like a dream; as a dream reveals itself -- suggests coming from teh Unconscious. As in the detail last night in which Jack takes his father's shoes -- wing tips; work shoes -- and puts them on the dead John Locke in the coffin. John Locke has been on the way to being the "new father" to a "born again" to belief Jack.

As in Twilight, this epic reverseed the "empty crypt" myth - a Silence of God myth - of the vampire tradition (we look in the crypt for the rising Christ but find instead an empty crypt). We know John Locke will rise out of the coffin to awaken the age.

As Christian said to John Locke, he must turn the style because the axle is "off centerr" -- John Locke re-aligns the constellations.

John Locke, it is plain now, is the Aquarian. As Ben tells Jack, he is a "proxy" as Jesus is a proxy; he fulfills the mythic passage on our behalf.

Ben reads James Joyce's Ulysses on the way back to the island.

IN this episode a painting of Thomas putting his finger in the Christ wound (much as Ben had in season two) is on the wall. Ben relates to Jack that Thomas offered that they should all go their deaths with Jesus. It is reflected that the six in returning to the island are likewise apostles following John Locke into death and rebirth.

Space satellites crash & Recently on Lost . . .

"Two satellites, one Russian and one American, have collided some 800 kilometers (500 miles) above Siberia, the Russian and U.S. space agencies, said Thursday." Fuck.

It is unbelievable that two of these things could accidentally smash into each other randomly in space. Nothing represents the post-war age as the rise of Sputnik and the competition between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. As a symbolic event and a synchronicity my thought is that this competition is over.

I mentioned here to Gregory a few months back and Christopher commented on it that the key stress I see in the U.S. in the next decade will be competition between the red states and the blue states here in the U.S. I wrote an article this morning about how American political attitudes since 9/11 have been sociopathic. The "Greatest Generation" thing brought a great pretending that the Iraq war was like WW II; we were pretending to be in WW II and be "like the Greatest Generation." Now we are pretending to be in the Great Depression. Both sides - Dems and Repubs - are locked in neurosis: as Norman O. Brown wrote in the 1950s: Neurotics don't remember, they repeat.

Jim Rogers, the commodities guru, has given up on New York moved from New York to Singapore. The U.S. vs. U.S.S.R. competition reflected the antipathy and division of the Roman Empire in Rome and the Empire in Constantinople & likewise the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Church of Constantinople; they have been at odds since the 3rd century. 'Tis over today.

Y'all see Lost last night? John Locke turns the style in the "center of the world" shifting the karma from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. Ben in this saga represents the Christ gone mad (in secret television language to hide from the censors - just like the Russians did in the 19th century) in the last of his 2,000 years ("Ben" = "Son" in Hebrew & Ben is identified as the Christ by the Christ wound in the chest and the book John Locke gives him in season two - The Grand Inquisitor" by Dostoyevsky, in which the Christ comes back and is imprisoned and tortured, as Ben is here). Is George W. Bush the Aquarian?

Said, I think, below, the cycles of history run through four post-war generations (see William Strauss and Neil Howe's The Fourth Turning for the cycles of history, the second of which repudiates the structuring and ordering of the period done by the first - the "greatest generation." The hippies, in our time were the wellspring of the Sixties - the second post-war generation and the Yeats/Khrishnamurti/Blavatsky 60 years previous. Thus, every 60 years astrology awakens in the collective mind and thoughts turn back to year one or zero, as in Pisces year zero and the birth of the Christ. I think there can be no question that when eyes and minds turn back to year one Aquarius, 2000 and 2001, they will see two faces: Osama Bin Laden's and George W. Bush's. One of these will be remembered as Caesar and one as the new Christ. But which will be recalled as the Emperor? With as the Sith? Rumor has it that George W. Bush is about to convert to Roman Catholicism. So part two of this question: Who will do the remembering? The Roman Catholic Church?

Entering Aquarius - "Twilight" and "Lost"

So long as there is power there will be power cycles. William Strauss and Neil Howe’s excellent book on generations well outlines post-war power cycles. The second post-war generation is inevitably marked by spiritual renewal, much as the Sixties bought the first generation past the big war to new spiritual origins. Henry James’s The Bostonians reveals a similar culture in the Boston region late in the century and William James’s book, The Varieties of Religious Experiences, became the text book of modern psychology. ON the continent came the rush of Orientalism; Yeats, Khrishnamurti, Madame Blavatsky at the same time.

The Strauss/Howe view is based on the archetypes; one generation opposes the last and takes its values from the one before. This was observed by Roman historians and Taoists. The post-war cycle ends in the 60th year. And after 20 years of war and wanderings, a new cycle begins. Likewise the “spiritual renewal” period occurs every 60 years. As the antithesis of war and chaos.

And when this begins people naturally come to look at things they avoid or keep subliminally at other times, like astrology. When they do they look to beginnings. This constant 60 year cycle forms a “natural history” which transcends all cultural changes like war and revolution. It has the effect of immortalizing beginnings of astrological cycles. People will always look to the beginning of the Platonic Month. I happened to notice yesterday a picture of the Christ as Anima Mundi in Tarot cards surrounded by the four elements. For two thousand years astrologers looked to the beginning moment of Pisces; year 1 Pisces, or zero. There were the three magi and the birth of the Christ. Likewise, through history ahead, year 0 or year 1 Aquarius will be fettered out. That will be year 2000 and 2001.

It is possible to see now that will be seen as “awakening” Aquarius as the birth of Christ awakened the Age of Pisces. This will be prominent in the popular and naïve culture (culture not designed by academics, institutions’ or professionals; culture that is unselfconscious). We start with The Matrix and go on to the Tolkien Trilogy which was showing in movies (air and electricity = Aquarius). Harry Potter can well be seen as the Aquarian; the earth shaman who precedes the pre-Newtonian mechanistic view of Calvin. He even come s with a “generationa shadow” – Captain Jack Sparrow; earth and water, the yin elements of the zodiac. IN the recent Lost series Ben (identified as the Piscean Christ in the second season) actually goes to the North Pole where the earth is aligned to the North Star and turns the turnstile; changing the age from Pisces to Aquarius (John Locke is acknowledged by Richard Alpert [which was the name of Ram Dass, Timothy Leary’s colleague at Harvard] a Taoist immortal as the Aquarian leader). Lost and the Survivor TV shows are “returning to earth” myths like the crop circle - virtually flying saucers on the ground - see Returning - indicators imply.

I believe this transition ends/begins with Twilight; it is the first vampire movies – vampire movies are “silence of God” or “empty crypt” myths – in which the Undead – people from the Unconscious – are the “Shining Ones” – this is a “return of the gods.”

The next “spiritual” cycle like the Sixties or the Khrisnamurti/Yeats/Blavatsky period will be about 2025. We are now with the economic crash at the end of the post-war cycle. Nothing can retrieve it. Things will continue to break. The “pilgrim” generation which renews the world – as explained by Strauss and Howe – is only about 13 years old – this is the audience of 25 million for Twilight. (Note: the “Greatest Generation” which ended German fascism and rebuilt the world under Eisenhower was only 9 years old at the beginning of the Great Depression in 1929.)

In this light the year 2012 should be interesting. I noticed on a CNN briefing yesterday that the Aztecs prophecy was actually given contemporary credibility by a scientific discovery. IN the 1950s scientists discovered that that the Sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way in 2012. The scientists in the article used this to declare that the Incas “knew nothing about this” and thus could not have made a prediction through their technology and systems of thinking. But obviously it is a synchronicity.

In any case, when the origins of the Age or Aquarius are recalled it will constantly recall the events and culture of the years 2000 and 2001 over the millennia, just as the birth of the Christ is recalled and immortalized today.

Incidently, several of what can be considered "Aquarian" culture "move" the source; Dali, in The Temptation of St. Anthony" moves it from Rome (Vatican) to a desert which appears to be Texas and a Buddhist monk in "The Second Coming of Christ." Jung, sees "another Swiss" (Self) in Liverpool - a here the British (Anglo) empire flips from Extroverted to Introverted as it did in Rome - the external empire merely in time the casing for the spirit empire to follow (Toynbee suggests this as well; in history, he says, yang turns to yin over time). Ben in Lost switches the "island" to someplace else. In Twilight, Seattle is the home of new awakenings and where the gods hatch. I get most of this from my young daughter but from what I understand, all vampires are simple those who exist in the Unconscious or who have an actual inner life. They may be seen as Templars. In this Twilight venue the last cycle are the Voterie, Roman Italians in a clear reference to old school Roman Catholics. The vampires go to Italy for retreat. But everyone does, no? Is like a magnet.

"Lost" and Aquarius

Last night’s - Jan 14 – 09 – review of previous Lost episodes shows the link to the rising Platonic Month, Aquarius. Technically, the Age of Aquarius started in January, 2000. Ben is identified in season two as the Christ, marked by the Christ wound in his chest. He is tortured in a cell like the Christ in Dostoyevski’s "Grand Inquisitor," a chapter in The Brothers Karamazov. In his cell, John Locke gives him a copy of that book.

In last night’s episode Ben turns the turnstile to “move the island” – shifting the age for Pisces to Aquarius. He enters a “glass” to the North Pole - the center of magnetism aligned with the North Star. He is shifting the island to the “New Jerusalem” and lands later in a desert.

John Locke is identified as the new agent; the avatar of Aquarius, replacing Ben, the Christ and stepping from Pisces to Aquarius. In the lexicon of Lost, at the end of the journey, Ben has become a random killer. Locke goes to the jungle where Ben’s old constituency is waiting for him. Richard Alpert, a Taoist Immortal who never ages, says, “welcome home.”

In Lost, people have historic names. Richard Alpert, leader of Ben’s cult, is the real name of the Harvard professor who, with Timothy Leary, started the hippie movement. He took the name Ram Dass and wrote a popular book in the day titled Be Here Now. “Oceanic” airlines is the company name which owns the plane which brought the group to the island. Black Elk and the blue man

So I started, riding toward the east down the fearful road, and behind me came the horsebacks four abreast--the blacks, the whites, the sorrels, and the buckskins--and far away above the fearful road the daybreak star was rising very dim.

I looked below me where the earth was silent in a sick green light, and saw the hills look up afraid and the grasses on the hills and all the animals; and everywhere about me were the cries of frightened birds and sounds of fleeing wings. I was the chief of all the heavens riding there, and when I looked behind me, all the twelve blackhorses reared and plunged and thundered and their manes and tails were whirling hail and their nostrils snorted lightning. And when I looked below again, I saw the slant hail falling and the long, sharp rain, and where we passed, the trees bowed low and all the hills were dim.

Now the earth was bright again as we rode. I could see the hills and valleys and the creeks and rivers passing under. We came above a place where three streams made a big one--a source of mighty waters--and something terrible was there. Flames were rising from the waters and in the flames a blue man lived. The dust was floating all about him in the air, the grass was short and withered, the trees were wilting, two-legged and four-legged beings lay there thin and panting, and wings too weak to fly.

Then the black horse riders shouted "Hoka hey!" and charged down upon the blue man, but were driven back. And the white troop shouted, charging, and was beaten; then the red troop and the yellow.

And when each had failed. they all cried together: "Eagle Wing Stretches, hurry!" And all the world was filled with voices of all kinds that cheered me, so I charged. I had the cup of water in one hand and in the other was the bow that turned into a spear as the bay and I swooped down, and the spear's head was sharp lightning. It stabbed the blue man's heart, and as it struck I could hear the thunder rolling and many voices that cried "Un-hee!," meaning I had killed. The flames died. The trees and grasses were not withered any more and murmured happily together, and every living being cried in gladness with whatever voice it had. Then the four troops of horse men charged down and struck the dead body of the blue man, counting coup; and suddenly it was only a harmless turtle.

You see, I had been riding with the storm clouds, and had come to earth as rain, and it was drought that I had killed with the power that the Six Grandfathers gave me. So we were riding on the earth now down along the river flowing full from the source of waters, and soon I saw ahead the circled village of a people in the valley. And a Voice said: "Behold a nation; it is yours. Make haste, Eagle Wing Stretches!"

I entered the village, riding, with the four horse troops behind me--the blacks, the whites, the sorrels, and the buckskins; and the place was filled with moaning and with mourning for the dead. The wind was blowing from the south like fever, and when I looked around I saw that in nearly every tepee the women and the children and the men lay dying with the dead.

So I rode around the circle of the village, looking in upon the sick and dead, and I felt like crying as I rode. But when I looked behind me, all the women and the children and the men were getting up and coming forth with happy faces.

And a Voice said: "Behold, they have given you the center of the nation's hoop to make it live."

Abbess Hildegaarde had a vision of the blue man as well, like Black Elk's, he emerged from flames/the Sun. Blue in a dream can suggest coming from the Unconscious; Khrishna is usually painted as blue & Khrishna translates the "dark one."

The "blue square" at the Beijing Olympics brought blue man to my mind. Also Clarice's dream of Dance before the Sun King.

Why "Twilight" is important . . .

Good evidence that the world was changing its direction came about when Rabbi Loeb (1513-1609) of Prague tried to conjure a Protector (Savior) and found that he only could muster a Golem. From then till now Golem has been a central theme. In the Fantastic 4, Son ("Ben" = Son) – the Christ in the traditional Quaternity of Christendom, is Golem. Seinfeld is likewise a Quaternity and George Costanza (“He is often portrayed as a loser who is insecure about his capabilities,” – Wiki) is Golem. Yeats’ Rough Beast Slouching Toward Bethlehem is Golem. Golem is a homunculus, like Pinocchio and so is Frankenstein – a dream motif and archetype; one dreams of carving a god in the absence of God.

Likewise, vampire is a Silence of God theme. The crypt, from which the Christ arose, became empty by 1897, when Bram Stoker wrote Dracula. These are the two major themes; werewolf a third, but that is something different.

What is important about Twilight is that vampire is not an absence of God but represents a return of the Gods; the vampires, Edward and Carlisle first among them, are the first among the gods - they don't hide from the Sun, they glisten in the Sun; that is why they cannot let the people see them in the daylight - like the Christ in Dostoyevski's Grand Insquisitor, they would be tortured or slaughtered. In fact, Edward and Carlisle represent half of the Twilight Quaternity; Father and Son. And it is a most interesting Quaternity as the two yang aspects - Father and Son are from the Unconsicous. The two yin aspects - Bella and Jacob - live in the world. Bella being the Cosmic Mother (Psyche) and Jacob Black, the Indian adviser, Spirit. What is excellent in this is that Spirit and Cosmic Mother are the two faces of the yin, while Carlisle and Edward are the two faces of the yang.

The movie ends with a classic union in the temple; the dance of Bella and Edward in the gazebo – a sacred marriage; coniunctio; the alchemical marriage of opposities – of yin and yang. What is extra intuitive about this is that Bella has a broken right leg. She is “right brain” and its manifestation to the left side of the body; the yin manifestation of the world.

Twilight is a generational myth; Edward, Bella, Jacob, Carlisle, the Quaternity godhead of a new generation now rising and only 13 years old. The Twilight gods are this generation's gods.

This links with much I’ve been surmising in The Titan and the Egg – The Negative Anima is represented by Three Women – Two of them are portrayed as men but they have long hair as does Jason, representing the yin spirit and the other Indians; the violent three vampires, the Black Moon manifestation of the Piscean arrangement in the three phases of the moon throughout the 2,000 year period: Robert Graves in The White Goddess, gives the awakening moon to Albion at the beginning of the rise of England/Europe, the agency of Pisces - a yin age and a water age, then on to Rose Moon (Eleanor of Aquitaine) around the 12th century and marked by the great rose glasses in the European cathedrals (each with three gynecological portals representing the Three Sisters. In Titan, I marked Victoria as the Black Mother - the Death Mother; the dark receding moon and the end of the moon cycle of the Age of Pisces. The avenger of the three evil vampires in Twilight is named Victoria.

The age awakening is marked by Titans. In the tradition of horror movies the Stan Lee movies and comics should be considered. Stan Lee as I understand it was a European Jew who came to Brooklyn and New York. In the Hindu tale, one loses one’s gods and spirit traditions and that is a hall mark of American entry; one seeks the Self to find God. Lee may have succeeded. His creatures are not “empty” vampires like the others; they come from the Unconscious, but they are archetypal elements. The X Men is actually based on White’s The Once and Future King – King Arthur’s agents, which like Unicorn, are archetypes.

Likewise, Edward & co. are Titans. The mark of Aquarius is the rise of Titans. This has been the theme through much in comic books and pop movies, where they hide from the priests and scholars.

Movies and pop culture express valuable contents of the Unconscious today in a world in which the participation mystique which destroys individuation is at its peak. Interesting that you bring up the fish in the oven - a dream of a (former) Boston priest named James Carroll who writes a column for the Boston Globe. There is a distinct change today in the pop culture with the book and movie Twilight. The history of horror movies and horror stories in our times can be traced back I would say to the great visionary and rabbi, Rabbi Loeb. Rabbi Loeb attempted to conjure a savior and found instead the Golem. Golem - homunculous - the finding a messiah by carving one like Pinochio has been a constant theme of the "Silence of God" since, heightened by Bergman in his movies in the '50s here but always present - The Fantastic 4 is a Golem movie (Ben = "Son" is Golem in Fantastic 4) and the tv show Seinfeld is one as well. Frasier is a very interesting Quaternity; a full Quaternity with Psyche Woman - an English clairvoyant - finding the end of the English (Piscean) journey in Seattle; Frazier being the Son, and taking cue from the Hindu waitress in a Seattle coffee shop on the West Coast rather than the Irish drunk in the bar in Boston. Frasier is the True Son at journey's end (Pisces) and journey's beginning (Aquarius). He has thus changed his religion and spirit guide from its Irish source to its Indian source.

But Dracula has been the most prominent "absence of God" theme or Silence of God theme. When the tomb is opened - the earth's Unconscious - there is nothing there - there is only the "undead." Terror then appropriately lies in the Unconscious and only the conscious world and the world or artiface and ego pays rewards. In the movie Twilight - as per Frazier and maybe Kurt as well it is important that it is in Seattle (the New Jerusalem) - the vampires are not a non-Christ, an un-Christ an empty crypt where the Christ used to be or an anti-Christ, the vampires are once again gods, who glisten in the sunlight.

In a moment in the current movie, Edward, the "Son" vampire, identifies himself as "the lion" - the representative of the Christ to Christian, the Boddhisattva to Hindus and Buddhists and the Self to Surrealists. This is a movie about the awakening of the Unconscious and a vast group of 13 year olds identify with it; 25 million of the books have been sold. It marks a distinct change in the western trajectory and replaces Golem with a sparkling deity who tries to control his wrath and karma; an auspicious beginning, possibly the Aquarian beginning. (Academics are pressing hard for C.S. Lewis's lion to be the Christ but it is only the physical King of England and his imperial regents in America we wants. He has a witch in the closet and is merely the shadow karma of Tolkien who sensed the Mother direct. Tolkien said he did not like allegories.)
